MIA
June 21, 2008...Mia desperately needs medical help ASAP. Here are the vet's findings so far:
  • Mast Cell Tumor on head, they think its going to be easy to remove and get good margins.
  • Mammary tumor is malignant and very dangerous. Needs to come off ASAP. *THIS TUMOR IS A DIRECT RESULT OF NOT SPAYING A FEMALE DOG.*
  • Heartworms have caused some heart damage, heart murmur and arrythmia. Needs full heart workup after tumors removed.
  • Two tumor removals and spay will happen ASAP. It is dangerous to put her under anesthesia. However this is the best choice for her at present.
The estimate for all of this medical work is well over a $1000.00 and is not optional. Can you help Mia survive?

May 15, 2008... Poor Mia has arrhythmia and a heart murmur... also the lump on her chest that is malignant. The vet also needs to check out the lump on her head. She'll need to have the lumps removed as well as a complete work up with an echo, xrays and labs. Mia drinks more than she eats, and the vet wants to make sure that she doesnt have diabetes or anything underlying.

April 17, 2008... Hello, I am Mia! I love to go on long walks. I love my crate more and more each day, especially when the door gets left open and I can go lay down in there on my own. I got a bath today because I was rolling in the dirt.  I went outside white and shiny and came in as a fawn! I love my foster family, and I do not pay attention to any of the cats. I love the kids and my foster fur brother! I am an all around good girl. I don't even get up on the furniture. The sad thing is I am heartworm positive, but I'm up to date on all my shots thank goodness. Can't wait to get to my forever home!!
