MARLIE
April 12, 2009...  Marlie is one of the most gentle dogs I have ever met. She has been trying hard to impress her foster brother, Boss by copying everything he does... including marking on trees haha. She is still adjusting to her new food which I think will really help make her coat much softer. She is very good on a leash... she really enjoys moseying behind and just checking out the scenery! She is very content and could be happy sitting around all day which could make her a great office dog. She is VERY loving and gets super excited and will come over to be pet and say hi even if you just look at her! She is such a sweetie and I hope she gets a great family!

March 19, 2009...  Marlie has been returned to rescue due to an illness in the family who had adopted her.  Marlie is a great girl and it was very hard for her new family to make the decision to bring her back to CBR.  But, they realize that due to the amount of time they must spend caring for their sick family member they are unable to devote enough time to Marlie.

January 17, 2009...  I picked her up this morning. She is great and glad to be home with her fur brothers. Thanks for all the prayers!  We'll continue to keep everyone posted.

January 15, 2009...  This morning I went to bring her some of her own food. The groomer at the vet's office was excited when she saw me, because Marlie was up and wagging her tail, and doing the boxer wiggle!! She seems to be fine. I was thrilled. She ate last night around 6:30, and continues to eat and drink just fine, no vomiting. She has been fine today, no temp.  I spent about an hour and a half with her at the vet's office tonight.  She has been switched to oral meds from IV. She is going to stay a few more days, until the Doctor is satisfied that the infection won't creep up again.  Thank you all for your prayers. Continue to pray though, that she will not relapse.

January 14, 2009...  Marlie needs some prayers tonight.  She underwent surgery today for a ruptured uterus.  She developed pyometra - an infection of the uterus.  The infection was so severe that it caused a rupture of the uterine wall spilling infection into her abdomen.  Marlie is out of surgery but still in critical condition tonight.  We will keep everyone posted.

December 30, 2009...  Marlie is eating well and gets along great with Bobby (my boxer).  She does chase cats, but does not appear to be aggressive, just curious.  I haven't had much time to work on this yet, but plan on spending some time over the next several days teaching Marlie that chasing is not allowed!!  She's a great girl and she has really stolen my heart!

December 15, 2008...  Thelma has been moved to her foster home and has been renamed Marlie! Marlie is getting along well with Bobby, the male dog in the foster home.  She is very sweet and doing really well.  She went into the crate with a little help - no whining or crying.  More to come as we get to know her!

December 10, 2008...  I went to visit Thelma and Louise today.  The staff at the boarding facility said that they are just the sweetest girls!!  I did a temp test with a cat today and both did great!!  Thelma was a bit more curious than Louise, but in a playful way.  They have gotten baths and have been eating well!  They already look so much better than they did on Saturday!!  Hopefully we can move them into foster homes soon!!

December 6, 2008....  Thelma and Louise are 2 brindle beauties on an adventure together.  This duo wound up in a shelter and were rescued by CBR in the nick of time.  CBR did not have any open foster homes and we were forced to board these girls in order to save them!  They are sweet, happy dogs!  They were tested with other dogs at the shelter and did well.  The staff said that they just wanted to play with the other dogs.  They rode well in the car on the way to the boarding facility.  I was given an abundance of boxer kisses and saw plenty of wiggling!!  We are in desperate need of foster homes for these dogs.  It is very expensive to board them and it is money that could be instead used to treat their heartworm disease (both are heartworm positive and will need treatment).  They are good girls who deserve a second chance.  Please consider opening your heart and home this holiday season to foster one of these girls!  More to come as I get to know them!  I plan on visiting them on Wednesday to go for a walk, play and get more pics!!
