LILLY
February 9, 2009...  Lily is doing really well at her newest foster home! We have fallen in love with this little sweetheart! She is one of the best natured and most gentle dogs we have ever come across. She is wonderful with children. She wants to meet them all, and she never jumps up on kids (or adults). She loves meeting new people. She has never met a stranger or a person that she won't greet with that adorable Boxer wiggle! Lily is very attentive, wherever you are, she wants to be there right with you- even if it's just so she can take a nap near you. She just wants to be loved and love you right back with lots of kisses! She is very smart and has been adjusting very well. She is easy to walk on the leash, and I have only heard her bark once. She has plenty of energy to be with an active family who enjoys walks or has kids to play with, but when you are ready to relax, she will curl up right at your feet and nap the day away! We think Lily would be a perfect companion dog for an individual or a family with kids, especially anyone who is at home a lot. She seems to enjoy being the only dog in the house. I get the feeling she may have had a bad experience or been attacked by another dog because she is more tense when they are around. Both of her other foster homes had dogs so she can get along with other dogs if you take the time to work at it a bit, but I believe she would be best as an only dog. She loves to go for car rides and errands with us. As you can see by the photos, she is tiny for a Boxer and so adorable! We call Lily our little angel because she is SO sweet and gentle!

January 3, 2009...  Lily, who we call "Silly Lily, Wiggle Lily" because her little back end wiggles faster than a hummingbird's wings is doing wonderful.  She is in a new foster home (due to some shuffling around within CBR, not for any reason of her own) and she is doing great!  Lily is a small boxer but makes up for it with her energy.  In her new home, she has plenty of room to run and play and she has put on more muscle and developed quite a bit of exercise endurance.  Although she is full of energy, one of the things we love about Lily is that she does not jump up on people.  This is a saving grace because we have a 3 year old daughter who runs around the yard with her.  We're so happy Lily doesn't get us all muddy!  We highly recommend Lily to a family with children.  She is very gentle.  Did I say VERY?  When you offer her a treat, you have to be patient.  It takes her FOREVER to take it.  Sometimes we just drop the treat on the floor and eventually she'll get to it :-)  Lily tolerates being slept on top of by children, hugged, kissed, chased around the house, forced to play "dollies", and many other things.  She has the sweetest disposition.  Lily also loves her fur friend, our white boxer Tyson.  She insists on sleeping on the same chair as him.  At night, she likes to curl up behind our legs and keep our feet warm.  Lily is fully housetrained and also crate trained.  When she is in her crate she is quiet as a mouse and you'd never know she was in there.  We only use the crate when we're not home to make sure she doesn't chew on anything, but don't use it at night (otherwise who would keep our feet warm???)  Lily loves to go for car rides and long walks in the neighborhood.  Sometimes she gets tired and turns around and goes home and just waits at the back door.  She also likes to go out on the back porch and sleep in the sun.  Lily is mild-mannered in the house.  I can't say enough about what a great dog Lily would be for a family.  Energetic, yet mellow, sweet, gentle, well-mannered, loving - she's the whole package deal!  Please consider adopting Silly Lily and let her wiggle her way into your heart!

November 11, 2008...  Lily is doing great in her foster home.  She has put on weight since coming into rescue and now looks healthy and muscular!  She loves to eat and is very treat motivated. Lily has discovered what fun toys can be!!  She loves toys of all kinds and her favorite thing to do is shake ‘em, shake ‘em, shake ‘em!!  But, watch out!  Every now and then one will get away from her! Lily’s foster mom and dad have been hit by flying toys quite a few times, but they don't mind because it is a sight to see and Lily is very happy playing.
Lily is still awaiting HW treatment, but other than that she is as healthy as can be. She loves meeting new people and greets them by wagging her nub as fast as she can. Her foster parents refer to her as "Miss Wiggles" sometimes because Lily can get that nub going so fast her whole body moves with it. Lily is definitely an entertaining pup to have around, but then again she's a boxer so that's expected. :-)

September 11, 2008 ... Lily is about 2 years old, we think. She comes to us after being used to breed a lot. She has recently been spayed. She does have HW's and will be getting treated for that shortly. She came to us very skinny but has been putting on weight very nicely. When she first came to us you could tell she wasn't use to having a lot of attention and love from people. Now, she LOVES having all the attention and love from her foster parents. She loves to be playing with her many toys or just laying on the couch with her foster parents. She is good on a leash and  as is working on learning basic commands. She is just a delight for her foster parents and they had to name her Lily because she is a pup who has blossomed so very much. :-)

August 2, 2008... Lilly is TINY... only 35-40 pounds. She's about 2-3 yrs old. She is heartworm positive and also has one of her canines broken to the point where the pulp of the tooth is showing. We'll need to get an estimate of how much it would cost to address these problems.
