May 28, 2009... I look like a gremlin, but you can feed me after midnight. I have no idea what that means. I am just a playful and happy go lucky girl. I’m told I am a crate hater, but I will stay in there if I MUST. I used to have a few accidents in the house, but now I wait until I go outside. You can always tell when I have to go..I pace like an expectant father! I lost a few lbs. after I was spayed..but I am eating plenty and gaining some weight. I’m not going to exceed 55lbs. I’m small. I LOVE car rides. I had a visit to the vet last weekend because my foster brother rubbed eyeballs with me and gave us all infections. What a booger he is. But I am almost done with my eye drops and ointment. Please love me as much as I will love you! I’d love a fur sibling..but you can also make me an only child. I don’t really like cats though. They look like Kibble to me! YUM. I am UTD on shots, and ready to find my furever home.
May 17, 2009... Jasmine was spayed on May 11th -Yeah! She had some reactions to the anesthesia, but within a few days she was up and running again. She rested in her crate for just one day, and decided she wanted to rejoin her current “furblings” and have free range of the house. Jazzy continues to thrive. She has mastered some of the commands she was unsure of, like “back up” and “off” (used to get her off the bed or furniture or your lap!). She still gets a little lippy when she sees something outside..but she has been watching the Dog Whisperer on TV and will surrender her barking with a finger pointing and a SSSHHHH! Jazzy gained 6 lbs..and was tippy the scales at 47lbs…but lost a few pounds with her surgery and lack of appetite. We are working to add those lbs. back. Jazzy LOVES having playmates, and would be well suited for a home with or without playmates. She does well with small dogs, but is still anti-cat. She loves treats and will shake all day long if you keep feeding her. She is really special.
April 2, 2009... Jasmine “Jazzy” Jazmanian Devil continues to carve her place in her foster home! She enjoys Dunking her WHOLE head in the toilet and “Scuba” for water. She has become stubborn about notifying her humans when she needs to go out, but if you are home and take her out every 2-3 hours she is an angel. She is crate trained, but spends very little time in it anymore. She likes to talk. She barely ever barks in the house or in the car…but makes herself known to passerby’s and neighbors when she is out on a leash. Jazzy has the most amazing quadruple chin. She uses it to her advantage and slips her collar often. While on walks and outside, she requires a choker collar or harness…or else be prepared for her magical escape.
Jazzy is a loving dog. She cuddles with us, and prefers to follow us everywhere we go. She is loyal and gets along very well with her Furblings Piper, Max, Harley and Lady. She must have 10 minutes of Tazmanian time in the morning after going out. This means….. Bionic laps around the furniture, sliding across the kitchen floor, running into things and playing Rocky vs. Tyson with Piper. She’s a maniac, but irresistible in every way!
Jazzy will be in Charlotte on April 25th for Bark in the Park. Come on down and meet her, and partake in an incredible event!
March 13, 2009... Jasmine continues to thrive in her foster home. We have discovered that it might be best if she went to a home that has another Fur Sibling or a Master that is home most of the time. She craves companionship and is very loving and affectinate. She and Her Foster Fur Sibling Play and “Box” endlessly.
Jazzy is very active, so it has not been easy to get her to gain weight. She eats twice daily and has gained 2 lbs in the past 3.5 weeks. She has Mastered “Shake” because she knows it is usually followed by treats. She has improved on letting us know when she needs to go out, and this week she RANG the jingle bells on the doorknob that our other dogs use to let us know it is time to go out! We were giddy with excitement as she typically won’t tell you when she has to go. She is still enjoying her weekly visits to the dog park and has had no Aggression toward other dogs. Cats and squirrels are a different story. She will Hunt them like Elmer Fudd Hunted Bugs Bunny. She is an amazing girl… and easy to love.
March 5, 2009... Jasmine “Jazzy” had her first “Spa” treatment this week. She had an extended Bath , Blow dry, nail trimming and ears cleaned! Aside from her Howling during the bath, she was very tolerant and well-behaved. Jazzy still gets distracted outside and will bark at people, places and things, but we are working on her “Mouthy-ness”. She has not mastered letting us know when she needs to go out, but we do take her out every 3 hours or so to avoid accidents. For extended periods of time, she is crated, and is Crate trained. Jazzy does not LOVE to be crated but will settle in after some time. She is extremely playful, snuggly and a very affectionate girl! She loves to ‘Give Paw” and knows her basics: Sit, Down, Shake/Give Paw and NO! We are working on Back up as she likes to stick close to her humans! She has amazing agility and is able to leap great heights! Beware…she is an escape artist! Jazzy would make a very loving addition to any family with other dogs and kids, but she has not befriended Cats!
February 26, 2009... Jasmine “Jazzy Bear” is adapting very well in her Foster Home. She tends to stick pretty close to her Foster Humans and is very comfortable with her fur siblings. She is extremely playful and spends the better part of the Day in the Toy basket, and “Boxing” with her Boxer sister Piper. She prefers NOT to be crated and will show some signs of separation anxiety when crated, but eventually she settles down. She is crate trained, but has had a few accidents in the house. We are careful to take her out every few hours and are working on training her to ding the “jingle Bells” like our other dogs do when they need to potty. She has a habit of walking US, but with her new harness has stopped pulling and dragging us. She likes to bark at people, other dogs and blowing wind- but she is not aggressive and has become a Favorite at the dog park! After 4 attempts to socialize Jasmine with cats- we have determined that she cannot go to a home with Cats. Jazzy is very good with “Sit”, Shake and “Down”…and we are working on “Back up” as she tends to get underfoot and lacks the manners to be considerate enough to move! She just wants to be “snuggly” and is slowly learning independence. She told us her life is “Complete” when we invite her into the car for a Ride.
Jazzy-Bear is so lovable. Everyone at the Vet Hospital loves her! Her Heartworm was staged at Phase 1, and she has started Heartgard Plus Monthly. We are hopeful this will manage her HW+ status, and the vets gave her a Gold Star for wellness! Jazzy is very much a Boxer Puppy…and that makes her incredible!!
January 25, 2009... Jasmine aka Jaz or Jazzy is a young and beautiful brindle boxer girl looking for her forever home. Jaz is housetrained and crate trained. She is getting along nicely with the male and female boxers in her foster home. She is very playful and loves to lick. Unfortunately, Jaz is heartworm positive and will be undergoing treatment soon. More as we learn more about this pretty and playful girl.
