August 29, 2009... Jaeger is doing very well, and really is sweet. He's settled down alot, although still has some moments. He loves to play & wrestle, sometimes won't give up !! He's very well behaved in the house. I don't know if the other dogs keep my fosters out of trouble, but he hasn't done one wrong thing. I crate him sometimes, and leave him free others. He still likes to test his dominance by barking at you but as long as you're firm, he gets it :) We took him to the lake, but he didn't seem too impressed with it ?? He's definitely doing fine here.
July 23, 2009... Jaeger is being returned to rescue. The family who adopted him have a young toddler and the dad is overseas in the military. They found that Jaeger can be a little too rough for small children and needs more exercise than that family was currently able to provide. Jaeger is neutered and heartworm negative. He enjoys playing with other dogs, but he does have a dominant personality and would need a submissive playmate. Jaeger would do best in an active household with children over the age of 10.
March 5, 2009... Jaeger continues to thrive. He is eating well and gaining weight. He enjoys wrestling with his fur sisters, so he would probably love a playmate. However, he is a dominant dog and would need submissive fur friends! He has been learning manners in the house and how to walk on a leash. He's been walked a few times, and is doing alot better then I thought. He pulls, but also listens. He's such a smart, lovable boy. He doesn't like the vacuum, or outside leaf blower. On occasion he likes to chew at your feet. He loves laying on his back & sleeping, it looks sooo cute. And.... he does snore!!
He would probably do best in a home with older children as he is still learning his manners and is a strong, excitable boy! But, all in all he is a good dog!
January 31, 2009... This sweet guy was found by a CBR volunteer last week. He was in the middle of the road trying to eat a frozen, dead squirrel. He was taken to the local shelter and was on stray hold for several days to see if anyone was looking for him. No one came to claim this guy and he was taken into rescue today. While at the shelter, he was given all of his vaccinations, neutered and found to be heartworm negative. He is extremely thin and will need several weeks in foster care to fatten up before he will be ready for adoption. He has been a very sweet boy today. He seems to know some basic commands and rides very well in the car. More to come as we get to know him!!
