August 11, 2009... Caesar is now in his new foster home and seems to be adjusting well. He gets along fine with the female Boxer in the home (Sheena). In the two days he has been here there have been no accidents in the house and he has not bothered anything. He responds well to "sit" and "stay". He has not been crated but is confined to one room if we are not at home. He handles this well. When we are at home, he is loose in the house with our dog and does fine. He has met three of our four grandchildren and reacts well with them. I plan to take him to the vet today or tomorrow and have his stitches removed from his neuter. I will send more info after I have him a few more days and observe him more.
March 5, 2009... I really don’t know what to write except that Caesar continues to be an amazing dog. He is doing well. He had his first beach trip as you can see in the pictures and he loved it. He was so good. He had to sit on the blanket with us of course but he didn’t bark at other dogs or birds or anything. He wasn’t really crazy about the water but he had to at least check it out. He continues to be fine alone in the house without any incidents, except sleeping on the couch but we allow him so it is more our fault than his!! We still think he is going through his 2nd puppy hood though. He now has a toy box and if he cannot get us to play, he just helps himself to a toy and entertains us! He doesn’t tear anything up though. We also had a young visitor the other night, a two year old little girl and he was so great with her. He didn’t knock her down, growl or even try to get away. However, he did give her a few doggie kisses and she would just giggle and smile!! He has such a distinguished look and personality. He really is just a sweet, sweet dog but I will have to admit, he is getting spoiled!! Ok, he IS spoiled but, why shouldn’t he be, right?
February 4, 2009... Caesar is doing well. He continues to amaze me. I think he is going through his 2nd puppy-hood because he gets his toys out and plays with them. He would rather play with us but when he gets bored, he’ll get a squeaky toy out or chew on his bone. He lets us know when he needs to go out and still does fine on a leash although I know he would just love a fenced in yard. We traveled with him over Christmas and he rides in the car just fine. He truly is a very good dog and has such a personality. Despite his graying face, he loves to wrestle and play with the teenager in our house and he loves being near you. He’ll sit at your feet and just watch over you.
November 13, 2008... Hey everyone! This is going to be a little different. Most of the time the things you read on the website are from the foster parents, well, guess what-not this time. This is Caesar, I am the “adoptee”. I’ll start out by saying that I am a good dog. Sure, all dogs say that but I really am. My foster parents say it all the time. I walk really good on a leash. I may try to pull every once in awhile but when you call my name and give me a gentle tug on the leash, I back off. I really wish I had a fenced in yard but I do my “business” on a leash just fine. I don’t bother anything in the house but I must admit, when my foster parents are at work, I do sneak on the couch sometimes. I have been told by my foster parents that I snore. I don’t know what the problem is because THEY snore too!
I must confess a few things. I am male of course and I don’t really care for other males in my territory, but bring on the females! I seem to be partial to blondes. I have played with my neighbor, she is a golden retriever and she is a hottie! But if any of you other ladies would like to meet me, I’ll be glad to share a treat with you.
I do enjoy children. I haven’t really been around small children but my house has a teenager and he is awesome. I love to play with him and his friends. I really don’t bark except when the human says “speak” and for some reason, when I do that, I get a treat sometimes. Go figure! I am a very friendly dog though.
Well, I feel like I have bragged enough. Bottom line, I am a good dog, I listen and I am very loving. I give the best kisses ever, at least that is what my foster mom says. Take care everyone and until next time-bow wow!
Hugs!
Caesar
September 17, 2008 ... Sweet, senior boxer. More as we learn more.
September 23, 2008 ... Ceasar is eating like a pig, and looks good. His testicles really hurt him (the vet said there is a tumor in there) but other than that he seems fine. Walks great with a gentle leader, rides in the car great, and like to play with people...he listens well. He mostly likes to be loved on and sit by your feet. He is at my feet right now! He loves to give kisses, and his tongue is huge. He has not tried to mark in the house, but has not been given the opportunity. He has not pooped, and is house broken...he may mark once at first if given the chance, but I don't see that being a major issue. He is quiet and doesn't chew on anything! He is just a love bug! He let me give him a bath, and clean his ears. So far, doesn't care if I take his bones from him, pet him while he is eating/chewing, etc. He loves treats!
Ceasar gets along well with female dogs but not males.
