February 27, 2009... It is a sad day for CBR. Our sweet Amy became ill a few days ago. She was seen by a vet but her condition continued to worsen and this morning, with her foster family by her side, she went to the bridge. Our thoughts are with Amy's foster family today.
February 1, 2009... Amy is a love... all she does is sleep, eat and go out to do her business and comes right back in....loves to be loved! If she's not getting as much love as she wants she will stand in the middle of the floor and do the sweetest whine I have ever heard till you go and love on her.....a really gentle girl......
December 1, 2008... Amy tested heartworm negative today!! Now she just needs to be spayed and she'll be ready to be adopted!
November 23,2008... Amy goes to the vet on 11/25 for her heartworm test to see if her treatment was successful! She has been doing really well and we are hoping to hear great news on the 25th!!
November 4, 2008... Amy has had her heartworm treatment! She now has to rest and take it very easy for the next 4-6 weeks. So far she is doing great! She should be on "crate rest" following this treatment, but Amy is not fond of the crate so we have been gating her in the bathroom while we are at work. She tolerates this just fine! Amy is such a sweet girl! We are really enjoying our time with her!
October 5, 2008 ... Amy is doing well, she is still putting on weight and looking much much better... plays a very little and seems to tire easily. I found out the other night she is really frightened of the thunder and lightening. She is getting along very well with all my animals, stays in the house most of the time and has hardly had any accidents. Amy loves being with everybody.... of course she is a boxer so she does have many goofy moments, she will not get in my bed and sleep with me however, when I get out she goes right in.
July 31, 2008... Amy is a very sweet old girl. She was obviously used at one time for puppy producing as her nipples hang down from over use over the years. She probably was raised most of her life in a cramped cage as she does have trouble with her hind end. However, this does not dampen her spirit and she is a happy old girl. She loves to be petted and is very friendly towards everyone. Please consider giving this old girl a warm place to put her head at night. She is heartworm positive and will need to be treated.
