NALA
August 29, 2009...  Nala continues to do great. She loves to run and play.  We have decided she looks like a bucking bronco has she runs and leaps all over the yard. She continues to listen and do as she is told. She really likes to go on walks and is great on her leash. She is just a fun boxer to be with. Her fur continues to get darker and her skin is looking very good. She had some nicks and rough areas but pampering has taken care of that.

Last Saturday she had a busy day. First she went to see the doctor. She didn't mind all the strange hands rubbing and feeling all over her. I think she enjoyed all the attention. Her exam went great. She is HW+ and it seems to be in an early stage because her heart sounded great and no murmurs were present. Our vet is working on an estimate for treatment and I will know the price soon. He is a great man and will do all he can to help her. Nala does have some ear mites and with some meds we will have that under control in no time. She doesn't mind having drops in her ears at all. She seems to know that everything we do is all for the best. She has gained about 10 lbs. and is filling out nicely.

Next, off to the spa. She enjoyed a full day of pampering and being loved on. She didn't mind the bath or her nails being cut. She does have some build on her teeth and we will continue on getting them pearly white. Again she doesn't mind any of these things. She is really enjoying the good life and lets us know with kisses how much she appreciates us. We know she will make a great member when she finds her forever family.

August 12, 2009...  Nala is our first foster so we are as new to this as she is. What a wonderful little girl she is. At first she was a little shy and reserved. But after a few days boy did she open up.  She is a great big ball of energy. She gets along ok with our male dog and not at all with the females. She seems to be very defensive with our boxer Gracie. Maybe the jumping and boxing gives her the wrong impression.  I do think she would be happiest as an only child. She greatly prefers to be with people. She has been around all ages and does just fine.

She has not had an accident in the house and we have seen no need to crate her. She lets us know when she needs to go out. She loves running around the yard and will let us know when she is ready to go back in. She knows a few commands and seems to listen really well. She does great on a leash and loves going on walks.

She is definitely the typical boxer. Loves to give hugs and kisses and lay all over us. Where we are is where she is the happiest.
