LILLY
September 27, 2009...  Welcome Lilly! We are thrilled to have another senior girl in our home, loving on her and getting her ready for her forever home with a new family. Lilly is a mellow sweetheart who loves to hold a conversation with us! If you start speaking to her, she will join right in the conversation with her little howling-like bark; it is the funniest thing ever! She is very calm but had no problem playing with me when I pulled out the ball! She has good energy and wanted to keep playing. She is a great size but I think she needs to be on a little diet, as I can’t see her ribcage. Knowing the ideal size of a healthy boxer is the ability to see her ribs, I think she could shed a couple of pounds. However, when she was pulled from the shelter in mid-August, she was underweight, so she is probably living a life of loving her food a little too much! We’re planning to start exercising tomorrow with brisk walks and to keep her fat down and protein up, she is enjoying a diet of green beans mixed with her dry kibble.

Lilly is very gentle around SarahBella, who is six. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by Oscar, our adopted Boxer, and only goes near him when she is trying to get our attention and affection. She loves to follow me and she is great on a leash. I love seniors – they already know how to just be lovable and loyal and all things great!

More to come on Lilly as we get to know her and love her more and more…she is healthy and spayed and would make a fantastic addition to a home with children.
