TONKA

October 23, 2009...  Tonka will be 11 weeks old Friday, October 23.  He is about 20lbs.  He is being crate trained during the day and is doing well (he is let outside at lunch time).  We have two cats and he is doing so much better about not chasing them.  He sits, on command,  before leaving his crate, before he goes outside, and before he eats.  Of course, he will sit for a treat too!  He is adorable!  If he is not running and playing with toys, you'll find him sleeping right at your feet.  He is a sweetie.

October 12, 2009...  Tonka is the last of Franky's puppies. Tonka is nine weeks and weighs approximately 17 pounds. We named him after the big toy trucks. Tonka is dear to our heart. He is the last puppy who needs to find a home. Tonka is the largest and most dominant puppy out of the seven we had. He is an adventurous, stubborn, mischievous puppy who also LOVES other dogs.

I would like to find an applicant that has experience with training dogs and that has a home that has an older dog who would enjoy a playmate. This puppy is not a good fit if they have another dog who is food aggressive or has alpha issues. Tonka LOVES food!

September 15, 2009...  The puppies are 5 weeks old and their puppy teeth have arrived! They had their first treatment for deworming. They are very active and enjoy playing with each other. The puppies still eat pureed puppy food, but they are eating a lot more! Franky occasionally nurses them still.  Next week, the puppies will go for their first round of shots.  Each puppy is showing their different personality and they like to try climbing out of their puppy playpen and explore our house.

August 30, 2009...  There are a total of 7 puppies, 2 females and 5 males.  The puppies are currently three weeks old and are walking, playing, and sleeping.  Tough life.  The pups just began licking up pureed puppy food this weekend, but still nurse from Franky from time-to-time.  They love the puppy food...and love laying in it as well!  The puppies themselves are fawn to dark brown in color and have the boxer floppy ears and a bit of white on their chests.  The puppies will be getting de-wormed at 4 weeks, and their shots at 6 weeks.  We do not know who dad is so we will not be able to tell if they are purebred for a few more weeks.
